Chamika Block, LCPC
Block Counseling and Personal Wellness Strategies officially opened in May 2020, since that time I have partnered with many individuals, and couples. In this work, I have been privileged to support and empower these people to embrace their strengths to overcome limiting beliefs that had held them back from the lives they were eagerly seeking. Each situation is viewed in its uniqueness, skills assessed, and goals identified to outline a plan of action for change.
I specialize in working with individuals that are stuck and seeking to disrupt their heavy emotions and current patterns of thinking and behaving. These emotions and patterns often create conflict within important relationships with self and others and bring about symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, avoidance and aggression. I have experience and hold a passion for helping those struggling with life transitions, core identity concerns, helping professional, ENM persons, and mother-daughter relationships.

My style is conversational and infuses psychoeducation. I am a trauma informed therapist, which means I recognize that many have experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and that these experiences can shape a person’s view of the world. This view can inform and influence interactions with self and others. Therefore, I seek to provide a space that acknowledges, respects, and shows kindness toward this reality and seek to help people access their choice and power as they grow to a new level of understanding of themselves and others.
